CowParade 2009
The concept of CowParade started out in Switzerland in 1998, by renowned artistic director Walter Knapp, who had the innovative idea to hold an international exhibition of public art to raise money for charity. Since then, public exhibitions have been held in cities as far and wide as Tokyo, Sydney, Johannesburg and Sao Paulo.
The world’s largest public art exhibit aims to bring art into everyone's day-to-day life, rather than confining it to behind doors in galleries. Painted by local artists, the exclusively-designed cows aim to feature capture local culture and other aspects of city life in Madrid.

When Luke Madson told his dad, Mark, he needed some help to build a Tree House, he had no idea what he was in for.
It seems as if the tree was made to hold this truck, because it fits perfectly between the two massive trunks of the tree. It fits so tight in fact, that Luke and his buddies have to crawl in through the windows, "Dukes of Hazzard" style.
Once they are inside, they can drive anywhere their imagination can take them. With the sounds of Interstate Highway 43 and the sway of the tree in the breeze, it's not hard to make believe that you are Peter Pan.

To celebrate the Orthodox holiday of the Epiphany, on January 19, Russians plunge into ice-cold water to purify their bodies.
In a ritual imitating the baptism of Jesus Christ in the River Jordan, wholes are cut into the ice covering rivers and ponds across Russia and priests bless their waters. People actually stand in line, late into the night, wearing only their swim-suits or underwear, to jump into the ice-cold water.
The cold water is said to have a cleansing effect on those brave enough to jump into it, but some of the brave swimmers just do it for fun and thrills. Not recommended for the faint-hearted, the ritual of the Epihany helps harden the body and make it more resisliant to illness.
